Ralph Mason

Ralph Alexander Mason, 78, of Holly Grove Road, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at Brian Center of Lexington following an extended illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of David Case, 203 Shoaf St. Mr. Mason was born Nov. 12, 1932, in McDowell County, to Harry Remus Mason and Rilda Williams Mason. He was a retired truck driver and had served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Brooks Mason; a daughter, Tammy Garrison; and brother, Bruce Mason. Surviving are grandchildren, Monica Holder of Lexington, and Robert Case of Boston, Ma.; great-grandchild, Ethan Bowles of Lexington; and sisters Hazel Redmon of Thomasville and Doris Clifton and husband Paul of Richmond, Va.
