Ralph Thomas Sherrill

Ralph Thomas Sherrill, 72, of Old Salisbury Road in Lexington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home.  A military graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at National Cemetery in Salisbury with the Rev. Jim Luck officiating.   Mr. Sherrill was born on March 5, 1946 in Mecklenburg County, NC to Bradford Levi Sherrill and Mary Lou Reavis Sherrill.  Ralph was in the US Marines and proudly served our country in the Vietnam War.  He was a member of VFW Post 3074, American Legion Post 8 and AMVETS Post 13.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Frankie Ramseyer, and most recently by his beloved dog, Rusty.  Surviving are sisters, Nancy Edmonson and husband, Larry; Patti Hartzog and husband, Ronnie, all of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Children’s Home, 3844 NC-8, Lexington, NC 27292.
