Randall Burkhart

September 11, 1962 — October 28, 2025

Lexington

Randall Elwood Burkhart, 63, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday evening, October 28, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

A memorial service will take place 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Central Baptist Church 1347 NC Hwy 47, Lexington.

Randall was born on September 11, 1962, in Davidson County, to Jerry Elwood Burkhart and the late Mona Smith Burkhart.

His view of life was evident in the way he loved the simpler things. Fishing brought him not only satisfaction but a peace that could only be found on the water, along with an appreciation for the beauty of God’s creations.

Traveling and seeing the beautiful sights stretched from the local fishing holes and across the states to magnificent views that Randall experienced, a favorite memory being Yellowstone National Park. Though he marveled at the grand works of God, one of his greatest joys he found was the companionship in his dogs. He was always a dog lover, despite who they belonged to, and truly reciprocated the affection given by “man’s best friend.”

Randall’s gentle and caring nature did not stop with his canine friends, but reached throughout his beloved place of worship, Central Baptist Church. He was an exceptionally active member for as long as he could be and was known by all to be a blessing within his church family.

Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lisa.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving girlfriend, Lisa Moorefield, of the home; father, Jerry; daughter, Kayla Gray; Kristen Moorefield, who was like a stepdaughter to him; five grandchildren, Bentley, Waylon, Lillian, Skylar, and Erin; and best friends, Tim Benson, Jonny Young, and Scott Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church, 1347 NC-47, Lexington, NC 27292.
