Randy Jones

Mr. Jimmie Randal “Randy” Jones, 64, of Yountz Road, died Sunday, June 24 at his home after declining health. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 27 at New Friendship United Church of Christ, by the Revs. Butch Conrad and Sarah Snell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Jones was born August 1, 1947 in Davidson County to Homer Ray Jones and Woodrow Wilson Edwards Jones. He was the retired owner of the Travel Center and a member of New Friendship United Church of Christ. He also had worked with ARC of Davidson County and was a member of the Lexington Memorial Lodge #473 and the Order of the Eastern Star #98. His brother, Homer “Buck” Jones, his sister, Rachel Jones Welborn, and his beloved green parrot, Billy, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Younts Jones of the home; his son, Dr. Christopher Todd Jones and wife, Carol, of Mt. Vernon, GA; his daughter, Stacy Jones Wilson and husband, Dale, of China Grove; and his grandchildren, Anna Wilson, Justin Wilson, Silas Jones, Isaiah Jones, and Elizabeth Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Friendship United Church of Christ, 307 Turner Road, Lexington NC 27292.
