Ray Etheridge Fritts

Ray Etheridge Fritts, age 89 of Fairview Drive, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning (February 17, 2010) at Hinkle Hospice House.  A Masonic graveside service will be at 10:00 am Friday morning at Forest Hill Memorial Park by Lexington Memorial Lodge 473 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am Friday (February 19, 2010) at Fairmont Presbyterian Church with Rev. Randy Hall officiating.   Family will greet friends following the Memorial service at the church.   Ray was born in Davidson County December 1, 1920 to Shirley George Fritts and Lula Wilhiem Fritts.  He was a retired employee of Erlanger Mills with over 40 years of service.  He was a charter member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, former Elder and Supertintendent of the Sunday school and strongly supported the church in many other areas. He was a former volunteer fireman for South Lexington Fire Department, a Mason and member of Lexington Memorial Lodge 473 A.F. & A.M. and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Juanita Sink, Lucille Musgrave and Laura Young and one brother R.D. Fritts.   Surviving are; wife Mary Hege Fritts of the home; one son, Ray Etheridge Fritts, Jr. and wife Billie of San Antonio, TX; two grandsons, Tony and Jeff Fritts of San Antonio, TX; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Fritts Carlton and husband Dewey of Lexington; his caregiver, Ronda Feezor of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.   Memorials should be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or to Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 1436 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC  27292.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
