Ray Von Jordan, 78, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Mountain View Baptist Church, 407 Mountain View Church Rd, Lexington, NC 27292.
A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at the church.
Ray was born on July 7, 1946, in Guilford County, to the late Edgar “Buddy” Jordan and Doris Foster Jordan Cecil. Upon graduating from high school in 1965, he served his country proudly in the US Army. Ray later retired as warehouse manager for a couple electrical companies.
Ray found joy in life’s simple pleasures—bowling, fishing, and spending warm, sunny days out on the golf course. But beyond his hobbies, he had a natural gift for fixing just about anything, always tinkering and making things work again. However, what truly set him apart was his remarkable talent for conversation.
Ray had a way of drawing people in with his words, effortlessly discussing any topic that came up. History was one of his favorites, and when he spoke, his stories came to life, captivating those around him. His ability to connect with others and share his wealth of knowledge left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Dolan Cecil Sr. and brother, Mark Cecil.
Left to carry on his legacy is his wife and love of his life, Linda Fowler Jordan, of the home; son Dane Jordan (Amy); brothers, Sid Jordan, Dolan Cecil Jr, and Ted Cecil; sister, Robin Harrill (Jim); sister-in-law, Frances Moore; and two grandchildren, Alexis “Mac” Manus (Wes), and Olivia “Ollie” Jordan.
