John “Ray” Tetter of Tussey Road, went Home to be with his Lord, Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday, October 25, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Methodist Church with military graveside rites by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Tetter was born January 20, 1919, in Davidson County, to John and Maude Tetter. He proudly served his country during World War II and was a US Army Veteran touring in Africa, Germany and Italy. He retired from Carolina Panel and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. He loved working in his garden, playing his mandolin, woodworking and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Marie Lanning Tetter; brothers, Terry, Ivy, Graham, Howard, Odell and Charles Tetter; and sisters, Mary Tetter and Irene Lopp.
Surviving are his son, David Tetter and wife Jane of Lexington; three grandchildren, Lisa Miller and husband Johnny of Lexington, Tonya Smith and husband Dean of Jonesville and Kari Wilson of Lexington; seven great-grandchildren, Dani Pruett and husband Josh, Patrick Miller, Anderson Wilson, Dawson Smith, Anna Wilson, Lora Wilson and Emma Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Kenzly Pruett.
