Ray Von Young

Ray Von Young, 79, of New Bowers Road, died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Centerclair nursing home after 4 years of declining health. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday June, 26, 2007, at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by Rev. Butch Conrad. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Young was born in Davidson County on December 8, 1927, to Charles Byrce Young and Fannie Beck Young. He was retired from Frank IX and Sons after 42 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Reva Snider Young of the home, one son, Gene Young and wife Myra of Port St.Lucie Florida. Two daughters, Vonetta Floyd and husband Donnie, and Regina Humphrey and husband Tony, both of Lexington. One Sister, Barbara Mayhew and husband Harvey of Thomasville. Seven grandchildren, Marty Floyd and wife Audrey, Shane Floyd and friend Michelle Dove, Ashley Young and wife Crystal, Kevin Young and wife Kallie, Cassie Miller and husband Chris, Chad Coppley and wife Angela and Lauren Humphrey. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bryce Young, and a sister Montise Clodfelter. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday June 25, 2007 at Davidson Funeral Home.
