Ray Von Yarbrough, age 92, of Fairview Dr., Lexington, died Monday at his home after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Chris Henderson and Rev. Mike Esther officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
Mr. Yarbrough was born August 19, 1915 in Davidson County to Henry Yarbrough and Ella Koontz Yarbrough. A member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, he was retired from Proctor Schwartz, a past employee of Hedgecock Lumber Co., and G.W. Smith Lumber Co., and was a skilled carpenter, who took much pride in his work.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Bernice Burkhart Yarbrough of the home, two daughters, Ginger Davis of Lexington; Sandra Guarino Carroll of High Point; 3 grandchildren, Amy Davis Hedrick, Lisa Guarino Wilson and Bobby Guarino; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Foy Yarbrough and wife, Zale, of Lexington and a sister, Rachel Reid of Lexington.
The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
