Rayford Dare Driver

Rayford Dare Driver, 78 of Lexington, passed away February 11, 2022, at Kiser Hospice Home in Salisbury.

A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11:00 am at Salisbury National Cemetery, with The Rev. Glen Gunter officiating followed by military honors by the US Air Force.

Mr. Driver was born June 29, 1943, in Davidson County, to David Tilden Driver Sr and Mary Bruff Driver. He was a retired US Air Force Veteran. He loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors, and having served in the Army National Guard.  His passion was his family, especially his grandchildren. Rayford was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and brother, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Christine Hutson Driver who died December 23, 2004, a son, Derrick Driver.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Melissa Gunter, and husband Scott of Lexington; grandchildren, Tyler Gunter, and wife Bralley and Dylan Gunter all of Lexington; brothers, David Driver Jr. of Lexington, and Walter Driver, and wife Urenda of Tallahassee Fl, sister, Vickie Yountz of Welcome.
