Rayford Linville Whitley

Rayford Whitley, age 97 of Winston-Salem, a WW II Veteran, was called to his eternal home on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2022, at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends after the service in the cemetery.

Mr. Rayford was born in Davidson County to David Andrew Whitley and Effie Mae Alley Whitley. Rayford was of the Baptist faith and retired from RJ Reynolds. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Margaret Adkins Whitley, son Michael Whitley, his parents and five brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are daughters; Melinda Saintsing (Wyatte) of Thomasville, Teresa Isley (Mitch) of Durham, three grandchildren; Rayma Stover (Mike), Kris Saintsing, Gayle Collins (Jared), four great-grandchildren; Whitley, Autumn, Westan, Walker, three great great-grandchildren; Raelyn, Kase, Sage and a host of nieces and nephews.
