Raymond "Bruce" Conrad

Raymond “Bruce” Conrad, age 77, of Mt. Carmel Road, Lexington passed away suddenly Sunday morning at Lexington Medical Center. He was a very special and humble man who loved his family, and he had a very special love for his grand and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, where he was a member with Rev. Bruce Morasco officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall. Bruce was born in Davidson County August 5, 1936 to William Henry and Hattie Hege Conrad. He was a retired employee of Proctor & Schwartz and had a love for farming and cattle; and had a special passion for the after school program at Mount Carmel. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hazel, Margaret and Martha; brothers, Lawrence, Jim and Virgil. Bruce is survived by his wife, JoAnn Swicegood Conrad of the home; daughters, Sherri Menges (David) and Linda Laws (Jimmy) all of Lexington; his special grandchildren, Melissa Jones (Raymond), Justin Menges and Brad Laws; great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Jones; sisters, Jane Palmer of Surfside Beach, SC, Barbara Owens and Pegge Swicegood both of Lexington; brothers, Max Conrad of Fredricksburg, VA and Lee Conrad of Lexington.
