Raymond H. (Doc) Wilson, 80, Primrose Drive, Ext Lexington went to be with the Lord Thursday October 18, 2012 at his home after being in declining health for two years.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, (10-20-2012) at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm Friday, October 19, 2012, and other times at the home of his daughter 432 Primrose Drive Ext.
Doc was born in Davidson County, November 15, 1931, to Willie Ed Wilson and Fannie Moncus Wilson. He was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Jeanette B. Wilson, and three brothers, Herbert (Buck) Wilson, Herman (Chub) Wilson and Hobert (Pete) Wilson.
Doc is survived by his daughters, Raymonette Workman and husband Tony of Denton; Suzie Brinkley and husband Gary of Lexington; grandchildren, Lynnette Goins and husband Marty of Lexington Danette Sexton, Adam Workman and wife Jessica and Austin Workman, all of Denton; great-grandchildren, Amber and Chase Goins of Lexington, Sierra Kidd and Tanner Workman of Denton; sister, Sally Leonard of Lexington; and father-in-law, Bill Benfield of Lexington.
The family would like to thank Rhonda Kennedy of Senior Services for the special care she gave and to Hospice of Davidson County for their compassionate care and support.
