Raymond Aaron Everhardt, age 88 of Stepp Grubb Road, Linwood passed away Tuesday afternoon at Lutheran Home in Salisbury. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday (July 31, 2009) at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Lori Anne Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with
military graveside honors.
Raymond was born in Rowan County, North Carolina June 13, 1921 to Orville Kanoy Everhart and Mary Elizabeth Bass Everhart. He was a member of Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired self employed Building Contractor. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army Air Force, as a Aircraft Engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise Moore Everhardt who died May 11, 1959, three sisters, Olene Lloyd, Mary Trexler, Betty Lane; four brothers, Olin, Roy, Sam and Albert Everhart.
Surviving are; two daughters; Phyllis Thompson and husband Barry and Pam Harrington and husband Michael all of Linwood; four grandchildren, Cynthia Reagan Black of Charlotte, Kimberly Reagan Nulph and husband Tim of Lexington, Mark Harrington wife Mindy of Salisbury and Scott Harrington of Linwood, seven great-grandchildren,
Brant, Aaron, Philip, Rebecca, Dylan, Mary Beth and Jared.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday night.
