Raymond Pat Goodman, 77, of the Linwood Community, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012, at Smith Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, Pat, on Old Salisbury Road, Linwood.
Mr. Goodman was born April 29, 1934, in Rowan County, to Mack Goodman and Laura Waller Goodman. He was retired electrician from TriCo Electric; had worked at Cannon Mills Plant #7 in Salisbury, Wallace Cadillac and Pontiac of Salisbury and Aaron Chevrolet in Salisbury. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Sigmon Goodman.
Surviving are sons, Pat Goodman and wife, Barbara, and Doug Goodman and wife, Rita, all of Linwood; daughter, Sheila Goodman and fiancé, Johnny, of Linwood; five grandchildren, Charlie Goodman, Crystal Asbury, Jennifer Brinker, Doug Goodman Jr., and Kirby Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Alston, Ethan, Jordon, Lexus, Dawson, McKenzie; brother, Ray Goodman of Gold Hill; and sister, Helen Kluttz of Salisbury.
