Raymond Ashby Lanier

Raymond Ashby Lanier, 78, of Raymond Lanier Rd., Welcome passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in Hinkle Hospice House with his family by his side. Ashby was co-owner of Lanier Motor Company for 42 years. He attended Enterprize Moravian Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 17, 2015 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 16, 2015 a Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the son, Randall Lanier. Mr. Lanier was born in Davidson County April 28, 1936 to Raymond Odell and Pauline Koontz Lanier. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Belle Hill Lanier in 2002 and his younger brother, Ricky Lanier in 1973. Surviving are his wife, Roxie Tesh Lanier of the home; a son, Randall Lanier (Myra); a daughter, Sandra Lanier Essick (Vernon); grandson, Matthew Essick (Betsy); granddaughters, Kristen Essick Craver (Eric), Randi Lanier Marion (Will), Rebecca Essick Strange (Shane); great grandchildren, Jake Essick, Ashley Craver, Sarah Elizabeth Marion; stepson, Woodie Tesh (Susan); step grandson, Derrick Everhart, Brantley Everhart (Brittany); step great grandchildren, Zaiden and Brooklynn Everhart.
