Raymond Leftwich

Raymond Coleman Leftwich, 85, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held 4 pm Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home with Rev. Freddy Moretz conducting services.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Leftwich was born September 4, 1937, in Alleghany County, to Rev. William Paul Leftwich and Zola Clara Cheek Leftwich. He proudly served his country for several years in the National Guard. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Hall Leftwich.

Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Richard Leftwich of Lexington, and Michael Leftwich (Angie) of Lexington; three daughters, Jamie Everhart (Michael) of Lexington, Crystal Waugh (David) of Linwood, and Tonya Renfore (Greg) of Alabama; two brothers, Duane Leftwich of Lexington, and Dwight Leftwich (Sherry) of Yadkinville; one sister, Amo Lee Tally of Ennice; seven grandchildren, Braden Everhart, Xandria Everhart, Jordan Waugh (Crystal), Nicholas Waugh, Chad Leftwich (Alexis), Jessi Leftwich, and Terrin Mahadeo (Miki); and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is the love of his life, Shirley Essex of Clemmons.
