Ray (Pop) Owens, 76, of Lexington passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 16th 2016 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church by Fr. Ambrose Akinwande. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Raymond was born January 9, 1940 in Washington, DC to Raymond Oliver Owens Sr. and Julia Teal Owens. He was a retired truck driver and former proprietor of RPM Cycle Fabrications. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He passed through this life with a smile and a hug for everyone. He never met a stranger and loved his family and friends dearly. Surviving are his wife, Roberta Jean Arnold Owens of the home; his sons, Raymond B. Owens and wife, Debbie, of Welcome, and Robert Wayne Owens and wife, Sherry, of Lexington; his daughter, Rhonda Owens Gallimore and husband, Kevin, of Lexington; his brother Randolph E. Owens and wife, Kay, of Lexington; his grandchildren, Garrett Owens, Austin Owens, Kristin Miller and husband, Caleb, Ashlyn Owens and boyfriend, Matt, Kailyn Owens, Connor Gallimore, Clay Gallimore, and Carlyn Gallimore; and his nephews, Randy Owens, Kevin Brown and Gregg Brown. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
