Raymond Marvin Padon, Sr., 86, of Lexington passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Hinkle Hospice House.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 6 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Raymond was born in New York, New York on October 13, 1935, to James Padon and Loretta Padon Robbins. He was the Founder of Padon Roofing and operated it for 33 years. Raymond was a staple in the Lexington Community and never met a stranger. He was a “larger than life” character, well known for always being the life of the party and for his trademark dog howl shared at ballgames and social gatherings. Raymond and six of his younger siblings were raised at the Junior Order Home in Lexington. He was a loving father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Padon, Roy Padon, and Eddie Padon; and one sister, Irene Miller.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julia “Kay” Parks Padon; his three children, Raymond “Marvin” Padon, Jr. (Donna), Joseph “Joey” Michael Padon, Sr. (Carol), and Julie Padon Hunt (Jimmy); a brother, Melvin Padon (DonRea); four sisters, Geraldine Jackson, Jean Walser, Joan Guest (Skip), and Lois Padon; three grandchildren, Chris Hurd (Heather), Seph Padon, Julianna Padon Shelton (Matt); and his precious great-granddaughter, Olivia Hurd.
