Mr. Raymond Lewis Vaughn, 79, of Nathan Dr., Lexington, died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Hinkle Hospice House after declining health of several months.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 5, from the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, where he was a member, by Father Albert J. Gondek. A burial will be held at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Vaughn was born January 1, 1931 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Harry Bryan Vaughn and Mary Howton Collett Vaughn. He retired from Goodyear Tire and was a graduate from Kansas State College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jane Wright Vaughn of the home; his sons, David Bryan Vaughn and wife Bonnie, of Churchville, NY, Richard Allan Vaughn and wife, Sandi, of Randolph, MA, James Lewis Vaughn and wife, Michele, of Lutz, Florida, and Paul Joseph Vaughn and wife, Sue Cho, of Durham; his daughters, Eileen Wood of Enola, PA, Linda Ann Vaughn Schnitzer, of Palmetto, Florida, and Diane Teresa Vaughn Brawner, of Winston Salem; eleven grandchildren; and a great grandson.
