Donald Rayvon Tysinger, 81, Lexington died Thursday, March 14, 2013 in WFBH-Lexington Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. William Shrout officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 pm Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Tysinger was born October 17, 1931 in Davidson County to Marvin Sylvanius Tysinger and Maude Hedrick Tysinger. He retired as a mechanic for Billings Freight Systems with 40 years service and was a member of Second United Church of Christ. He was a US Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Preceding Rayvon in death, were his parents, a granddaughter, Lindsey Alexander, five brothers, Coy Tysinger, Voyles Tysinger, Grady Tysinger, James Tysinger and J.W. Tysinger.
Surviving are are wife, Caroline Morris Tysinger of the home; two sons, Charles Tysinger and wife, Tammy, Gary Tysinger and wife, Robin both of Lexington; a daughter, Donna Alexander and husband, Jim of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Alison Tysinger, Dawn Swicegood, Tyler Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Drew Tysinger; four great grandchildren, Emily, Caleb, Abigail, and Ada Swicegood.
