Rebecca Ann Pennington Cave, 68, of Davidson County, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A Memorial service will be held Sunday, Febraury 4, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Grace Community Church with Rev. Glen Desina officiating.
Rebecca was born in Boone County, WV, to the late Marlin Luther Pennington and Opal Peters Pennington, on June 6, 1955. She worked for most of her life cooking in several different restaurants and loved her work. She never knew a stranger and considered everyone family, being revered as the neighborhood mom.
She enjoyed going to the beach on a sunny day and being in the snowy mountains and would happily be barefoot in both. Rebecca loved her church and her church family at Grace Community. She was known for her hard work and positive attitude, never letting anything get the best of her. A fighter to the end, her strength and love for her family were unparalleled.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Barry Pennington and sister, Pamela Pennington.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her loving husband of 47 years, Dennis Cave; son, Jason (Jody) Cave, of Lexington; daughter, Tametha (Dean) Baker, of Lexington; brother, Paul Pennington, off WV; sister, Theresa Pennington, of Lexington; grandchildren, Larry Alexander Cave and Corbin Tyler Cave; and host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Davidson, 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292. Any flowers are to be sent to the family’s home.
