Rebecca Kaye Benoy DeTar , age 64 of Second Rainbow Street, passed away Wednesday afternoon in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Rebecca was born March 14, 1948 in Davidson County to Donald Virgil Benoy and Edna Kate Snider Benoy. She was a former supervisor for Quality Embroidery and had an expertise in the working of guns and fishing equipment. She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband Dean W. DeTar and brother-in-law Barney Everhart.
Surviving are; her father, of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Hilda Everhart and Sherrie Lyon and husband Martin both of Lexington; Nieces and Nephew, Brandy Lyon, Tina Marble and husband Greg, and Greg Lyon and wife Lindsey; special friends, Carolyn Byerly, Alma Rose Lopp and Mark Kearns.
