Rebecca Lee Brock Long

Rebecca Lee Brock Long, 63, of Jacob Street, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at her home following a two year illness. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Long was born November 20, 1944, in Sampson County, to Albert B. Brock and Hattie Mae Holder Brock. She was a housekeeper at Thomasville Medical Center prior to her illness. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Fred Sutton Jr.. Surviving are her fiancée, Bill Kennedy; daughters, Debbie Woodring of Thomasville, and Karen Harding of Chadbourn; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Brock and wife, Shelby, of Lexington, and Dewey Brock and wife, Carolyn, of Welcome; and three sisters, Mildred McGee and husband, Harvey, of Thomasville, Ruby Smith and husband, Frank, of Wilmington, and Pete Norris of Dunn. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home on Jacob Street.
