Rebecca Evans Marker of Southmont passed away January 20, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington, NC, by the Rev. Mark Rachels. A second service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Christian Church in Carlisle, KY.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the memorial service.
Ms. Marker was born January 1, 1962 in Carlisle, KY. After graduating high school, she met and married her husband John Henry and traveled with him for many years until putting down roots in Lexington, NC, where she made her home and raised her two children.
Becky’s business career included over 20 years with Green Printing and Chesapeake Packaging, learning every possible task within the business, to finally handling the IT work and special projects for Chesapeake.
Family and friends were everything to her and she went to great lengths to provide and care for them. Daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend, she was a blessing to anyone who made her acquaintance and she will be missed.
Becky was preceded in death by her Husband John Henry Marker II, who passed in 1998, and her loving father Cabbie Evans of Carlisle, Kentucky who passed in 2005.
She is survived by her mother Alma Evans, of Carlisle Kentucky, two sons, Brad and wife Brandi of Lexington along with son Anthony of Somerset Pennsylvania and grandson Maxton of Lexington along with three brothers, Mark, Mike and Marty Evans, all of Kentucky.
