Rebecca Sowers

Mrs. Rebecca (Becky) Hedrick Sowers, age 86 of Holloways Church Road, Lexington, NC died Friday March 27 at Lexington Health Care Center. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 1 at Holloways Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Dana Slack and Rev. Craig Barnhill.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 2:00 until 3:00 Wednesday at Holloways Baptist Church.Mrs. Sowers was born August 20, 1928 in Davidson County to Phillip A Hedrick and Virgie Lookabill Hedrick.  She was a retired employee of Lexington Furniture Industries, Dixie Plant and was a lifelong member of Holloways Baptist Church.  She was married to James Sowers who died May 19, 2014.  She enjoyed working in her yard and rasing sunflowers.Mrs. Sowers is survived by her sisters, Betty Jean Floyd and Frances Sink  and husband Bob all of Lexington; step sister Roxie Woffard of Southmont; nieces, Brenda Hancock, Robin Floyd and Wanda Sink; nephews, David Fritts and Dennis Fritts; best friend of many years, Mary An Fritts;  and a number of great nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to Upper Room Food Ministry, PO Box 363, Southmont, NC 27351Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
