Rebecca Stevenson

Mary Rebecca Yarbrough Stevenson, 86, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her home.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Stevenson was born April 24, 1935, in Davidson County to Purcell Addison Yarbrough and Mary Maxine Howell Yarbrough. Rebecca was a child of God and a lifelong member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader who loved her children, grandchildren, and dog Baylee. She also believed in the magic of Christmas and Santa Claus. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Reford Thomas Stevenson; one son, Thomas Leslie Stevenson; two sisters in-law, Helen Yarbrough and Pat Yarbrough; and two brothers in-law, Bobby Biesecker and Rudolph Hartley.

Surviving is one son, Casey Stevenson (Desta) of Thomasville; two daughters, Tracy Stevenson and Vickie James (Woodie); three brothers, Horace Yarbrough, Clegg Yarbrough, and Jack Yarbrough, all of Lexington; four sisters, Dorcas Biesecker of Winston Salem, Brenda Hartley of Lexington, Ruth Perrell (Johnny) of Arizona, and Virginia Podgaysky (Robert) of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Christina, Jenny, Thomas, Casey, Brittney, and Nathan; five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Carter, Haven, and Brock; and one daughter in-law, Debbie Stevenson.
