Reece Hedrick

Mr. Darrell Reece Hedrick, age 79 of S. County Home Road, Lexington, NC died Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Lexington Medical Center. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Cid United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Sandy Young and Doug Rowe officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Hedrick was born December 12, 1933 in Davidson County to Dewey Lee Hedrick and Maude Frank Hedrick. He served in the U.S. Army; was employed with Coble Dairy for 30 years prior to working at Lexington Furniture Industries until his retirement after 16 years of service. At his church he was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir and an official board member. Mr. Hedrick enjoyed spending time at Saddle Ridge on the Parkway. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Hedrick; and a sister-in-law, Edith Hedrick. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Grubb Hedrick of the home; son, David D. Hedrick and friend Beverly Thomas of Lexington; grandchildren, Kris Hedrick, Justin Hedrick, and Kristin Hedrick; and great-grandson, Kristian; brothers, Wayne Hedrick and wife Edna of High Point, Ronald (RL) Hedrick and wife Chris and Clinton Hedrick and wife Frankie all of Denton; brothers-in-law, Donald Grubb and wife Judi of Thomasville, Marion Grubb and wife Sonja of Denton, and Lamont Grubb and wife Penny of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews.
