Mr. Arnold Reid Clodfelter died March 19, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1923, in Davidson County to the late Arnold Lee and Etta Mae Leonard Clodfelter.
Mr. Clodfelter was a member of Center United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class. He was a graduate of Draughon’s Business College. He worked for the Federal Government at the Veterans Administration in Winston-Salem for 37 years before retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.
Reid was an Esteemed Brother of Lexington Memorial Lodge 473. On May 13, 2006, he was presented the Veteran’s Emblem in recognition for his 50 years as a Master Mason.
He was a life long member of Sapona Country Club and enjoyed meeting his friends for golf almost every day while his health permitted.
Reid loved to live life to its fullest with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Ann Everhart Clodfelter; three daughters Martha Mendenhall and her husband Jeff, Reida Snyder and her husband Wayne, and Elizabeth Baker and her husband Greg; eight grandchildren Jordan Mendenhall, Erin Mendenhall, John Snyder and his wife Ashley, Stephanie Snyder, Meredith Snyder, William Baker, and Anna Baker; and one great-grandchild Ethan Snyder.
The funeral service will be at Center United Methodist Church, Welcome, N.C., at 2:00 PM on Saturday March 22, 2008. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on March 21, 2008, at Davidson Funeral Home on Hickory Tree Road.
