Reid Woodrow Harvey, Sr.

Reid Woodrow Harvey, Sr. age 96 of Greensboro Street Ext. Lexington passed away Thursday night January 3, 2019 at Brookdale of Lexington.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Becks Reformed Church with Pastor Ben Greene and Rev. Steve Regan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by North Carolina National Guard and Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service and at other times at the home of Glenda and Larry Everhart 108 Crimson Drive, Lexington.

Reid was born in Davidson County, July 15, 1922 to John Lee Harvey and Lillie Miller Harvey. He was a member of Becks Reformed Church; a retired employee of United Furniture and a veteran of the US Army having served his country during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty Ann McCarn Harvey; sister, Mamie Dellinger and brothers, Dr. Raymond Harvey, Odell Harvey, J.L. Harvey and Hill Harvey.

Surviving are his daughters; Glenda Harvey Everhart (Larry) and Sherrie Harvey Smith (Chris) of Lexington; son, Reid Woodrow “Woody” Harvey, Jr. (Carol Ray) of Lexington; grandchildren, Chris Everhart (Heather), Keri Smith and Cole Smith (Chelsea); great-grandchildren, Dylan, Connor, Allie and Caiden.
