Rettie Leonard Spears

Rettie Leonard Spears, 91, of Lexington Health Care, formerly of Wildlife Road, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, in the health center after an illness of about two years. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beck's Reformed Churchby the Rev. Gerald M. Sanders. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Spears was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Davidson County to Charles Jacob Leonard and Minnie Belle Crotts Leonard. She was a homemaker. Preceding her in death were her husband, Nolan Nicholas "Jack" Spears, in 1985, as well as three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are a son, Jack Spears and his wife, Roxanne, of Clayton, and two grandchildren, Joshua Lee Spears and Brittany Lynne Spears. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home on Wildlife Road.
