Rev. C Bryce Smith Sr.

Rev. Clarence Bryce Smith, Sr., 87, of John Young Rd., Lexington passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Rev. Smith was born March 17, 1929 to William Harvey Smith and Vera Unetta Seymour Smith. He graduated from High Point College, Wesleyan Theological Seminary in Washington, DC and attended a course of study at Duke University. He was a Retired United Methodist Minister and was a member of the Western North Carolina Annual Conference of United Methodist Church. Rev. Smith served the following churches, Hopewell in Trinity, NC; Farmer in Farmer, NC; Fulton, Elbaville and Bailey’s Chapel in Advance; Harmony in Concord, NC; Gay’s Chapel in Salisbury; Oak Grove and Salem in Forest City, NC; Mt. Pleasant in Mt. Pleasant, NC; Sharon and Boiling Springs in Shelby and Pine Grove in Kernersville, NC. After his retirement he moved to Hedrick’s Grove Community where he served as an Interim Pastor for several UCC Churches, including Hedrick’s Grove UCC, St. Andrews UCC and New Jerusalem UCC. Preceding him in death were three brothers; Robert Calvin Smith, Harold Richard Smith, Kenneth Smith; three sisters, Annie Bean, Mildred Davis, and Margaret Koonts Surviving are his wife, Ina Kearns Smith of the home; two sons, Bryce Smith, Jr. and wife, MJ; Doug Smith and girlfriend, Vicki McLemore all of Lexington.
