The Rev. Glenn Thomas “Tommy” Cashatt, 93, of Old Salisbury Road, died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A graveside service with military graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at House of Hope Church with Preacher Gerald Mabe and Pastor J.C. Miles officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Rev. Cashatt was born April 25, 1923, in Davidson County, to Lola Clarence Cashatt and Lara Lou Bessie Robbins Cashatt. He was retired from Proctor and Swartz where he had worked as a Machine Operator. Rev. Cashatt served in the U.S. Army-Air Force during World War II; he was also a retired Holiness minister. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Lacy Cashatt, Fred Cashatt, Vance Cashatt, and Robert Cashatt.
Surviving are his loving wife Edna Ruth Nail Cashatt of the home; sons, Tommy Odell Cashatt of Linwood and Timothy Eugene Cashatt and wife Ann of Rutherfordton; daughters, Martha Jenkins of Denton, Dianne Akers and Nancy Morris and husband Mickey, both of Lexington; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
