Rev. Harold Cox

Rev. Harold Cox, 83 of Welcome, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2020 at his grandson’s home in Archdale with his family present.

In order to comply with directives from Governor Cooper’s office, a private funeral service officiated by Pastor Mark Hopkins and Rev. Wayne Knight will be held Thursday, May 14 th in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel and will be streamed live on the Davidson Funeral Home Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/davidson.funeralhome/

Harold was born on July 1, 1937 in Floyd County, VA to Warren Clayton Cox and Guida E. Phillips.  He retired as a minister having pastored at various churches including Worthville in Randleman for 11 years, Trindale in Archdale for 2 years, Mountain View in Claudville, VA for 9 years, and Eden First Pentecostal Holiness in Eden, NC for 23 years.  He also had other ventures in his life including being an author of Revelations for the Layman , building a seal-coat machine of which he obtained a patent, a rental property manager and one of the last traveling clothing distributors.  Rev. Cox proudly served in the United States Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Warren ‘Bud’ Cox.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rosemary Freedle Cox, of the home; son, Tim Cox of Welcome; daughters, Donna Bostic (John) of Archdale, Jennifer Cox of Clemmons; brother, Elza Cox (Helen) of Southmont; sister, Mary Cox (Eldridge) of Willis, VA; six grandchildren, Bridget Farlow, Clayton Farlow, Courtney Coleman, Madison Smith, Gavin Cox, and Bentley Cox; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
