Rev. Lawrence Byrd Cosby

Rev. Lawrence Byrd Cosby, age 74 of Tyro School Road, Lexington passed away Friday morning, July 1, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. No public services will be held. Lawrence was born in McDowell County, NC August 8, 1941 to Ray Cosby and Dessie Lamb Cosby. He was a retired rural carrier for The Dispatch newspaper. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Darcille Dillard Cosby, a son David Keith Cosby and a sister, Kathryn Guill. Surviving are his daughters; Melinda Cosby Jennings (Dennis) of Danville, VA and Bonnie Cosby Moore (Roger) of Lexington; granddaughters, Jennifer and Deanna Jennings and Alyssa Moore and a great-grandson, Landon Wyatt.
