Rev. Lewis Lambert

Rev. Lewis Lambert, 77 of Pine Top Road, Lexington died Saturday in High Point Regional Medical Center. Rev. Lambert was born in Burke County, December 11, 1928 to Thomas Andrew Lambert and Lucy Jane Smith Lambert. He was the retired minister of Catawba Free Will Baptist Church having served 27 years, after which he evangelized and assisted at Christian Life Free Will Baptist Church in Thomasville. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Jane Waters Lambert who died in 1986. Surviving are his wife Janette Cardwell Lambert of the home; son Bob Lambert and wife Shelia of Gastonia; daughters Kay Messer and husband Gene of Bessemer City; Robin Elaine Greene and husband Mickey and Chris Carson and husband Eddie both of Mt. Holly. Also surviving are step-sons Phil Palmer of Los Angeles, California and Tony Palmer of Monroe; step-daughter Joyce Sherbert and husband Tommy of Spartanburg, SC; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Lynn Lambert of Lenoir and Ray Lambert of Mt. Holly; sisters Elsie Jacumine of Valdese, Lula Arrowood, Ruby Ratliff, Betty Watts, Bernice Franklin and Glenda Boughman all of Mt. Holly. The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday (03-14-2006) at Catawba Free Will Baptist Church in Belmont; the body will be placed in the church at 11:00 AM for viewing. The service will be conducted by Rev. Gary Brown, Rev. Marvin Carson and Rev. James Messer, Sr. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens in Mt. Holly. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Christian Life Freewill Baptist Church, in Thomasville and other times at the home. In Lieu of Flowers the family has requested memorials to be directed to Christian Life Free Will Baptist Church, Building Fund, 799 Old Highway 29, Thomasville, NC 27360.
