Rev. Oliver Herman Beasley

February 19, 1919 — August 3, 2008

Rev. Oliver Herman Beasley, 89, of West Sixth Avenue, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 3, 2008. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Davidson Funeral Home by the Rev. David Robinson. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with graveside rites by VFW Post 3074. Rev. Beasely was born February 19, 1919, in Surry County to Robert Moyer Beasley and Surmanthur Harris Beasley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II; was superintendent at Parkdale Mills ; a member of VFW Post 3074 and Amvets Post 13. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hinson Beasley; brothers, Melvin Beasley and Moyer Beasley; and sisters, Bessie Skeen and Marie White. Surviving are sons, Robert Lewis Beasley and Jerry Wayne Beasley and wife, Linda, all of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maggie Rush of Archdale. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293.
