Rev. Robah Brown

Rev. Robah Oliver “Roby” Brown, 86, of Bethany Retirement Center in Spencer, and formerly of Leonard Road, died Saturday at the Brian Center of Lexington after a brief illness. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Oaklawn Memorial Garden in Winston Salem, with Rev. Glenn Murphy officiating. PawPaw was born October 12, 1921 in Surry County to James Brown and Lucy Miller Brown. He retired from Sealtest Dairy in Winston Salem and also had worked at the Oaks of Forsyth. He was a minister for more than 30 years, having last served at Bible Way Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the US Navy. His wife, Myrtle Duggins Brown, and his son, Oliver Gray Brown, preceded him in death. He is survived by his brothers: Bobby Brown of Lexington and Delmont Brown of Kernesville; his sister, Frankie Sisk of Lexington; his grandchildren: Billie Martin, Barbara Brown, Buddy Brown, Judy Hairston and John Garrett Kidd; 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home- Hickory Tree Chapel.
