Reva Snider Young, 95, of Davidson County, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM, Sunday night, September 28, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.
A funeral will be held the following day, September 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Hedrick’s Grove UCC, officiated by Rev. William Sowers and Rev. Alex Nance, with burial concluding the services in the church cemetery.
Reva was born on April 13, 1930, in Davidson County, to the late David Harris Snider and Algene Velera Snider. She worked for many years at Frank IX and Sons and was a devoted member of Hedrick’s Grove UCC.
She was a vibrant spirit who always made people around her smile. Her genuine character gave joy to those she knew and even to strangers. Her hobbies mirrored her attitude toward life by keeping a beautifully manicured yard, by the simple pleasure she found in watching the birds, and by creating wonderful dishes with her cooking and lovely pieces with her sewing.
Above everything, however, was the love she had for her family. Enjoying North Myrtle Beach on family vacations to spending time throughout the week, Reva was always happiest with her family.
Along with her parents she is reunited in death with her beloved husband, Ray Von Young; son, Gene Ray Young; daughter, Vonetta Floyd; brother, David Allen Snider; and sister, Joyce Young.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Regina Humphrey (Tony Tysinger), of Lexington; sister, Teresa Smith Franks (Terry), of Trinity; six grandchildren, Marty Floyd (Audrey), Shane Floyd (Michelle), Ashley Young, Kevin Young (Kallie), Cassie Miller (Chris), Chad Coppley (Angela); twelve great grandchildren, Zachary and Dillon Floyd, Jessica and Austin Floyd, Hayden and Kylee Coppley, Tyler, Chase, and Riley Miller, and Kayla, Gene, and Ciara Young; great great grandchild, Asher Miller; and special roommate, Linda Dillard.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those at Hinkle Hospice and Abbotts Creek who cared for Reva.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, or Hedrick’s Grove UCC 3840 Allred Rd. Lexington, NC 27292.
