Rex Leonard Everhart

Rex Leonard Everhart age 93 of Lexington passed away Saturday, August 6th 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living of Lexington formerly of Bethesda Road. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 9th 2016 at Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour before service in the family life center other times at the home of the son, John and Jamela Everhart. Rex was born July 20, 1923 in Forsyth County to John Osco Everhart and Alta Pearl Leonard Everhart. Rex served in The United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and had retired with the USPS. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Garvey Everhart and John Everhart Jr. Surviving are his wife of 72 years Mary Virginia Everhart Everhart of the home, son; John Everhart ( Jamela ) of Welcome, daughters; Sandra Everhart Fritts (Jim) of Lexington and Rexanne Everhart of Darlington, SC, grandchildren; Eston Stokes III ( Alicia ), Ginger Tysinger ( Bradley ), Chris Hester ( Stephanie ), Jeff Hester ( Tina ), Zac Everhart ( Sarah ), twelve great grandchildren.
