Rhonda Lee Hege Koonts

Rhonda Lee Hege Koonts, 73, of Lingle Farm Road, passed away Wednesday at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Byron Barker and Jeff York officiating. Burial will follow in Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mrs. Koonts was born August 18, 1939, in Davidson County, to Connie Lee Hege and Thelma Pearl Waller Hege. She was a former doffer at Wennonah Cotton Mill. She was a member of Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ. Mrs. Koonts loved to cook, her raisin pie was considered the best by friends and family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Huitt Conrad Koonts; and a sister, Linda Applebee. Surviving are sons, Reginald “Reggie” Gene Moorefield and Kent Richard Moorefield and wife, Amy, both of Lexington; daughter, Mona Renee Stuart of Lexington; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Larry Hege and wife, Joyce, of Concord, and David Hege and wife, Evonne, of Asheboro.
