Reverend Morris was born in Wake County on April 5, 1941 to Rias Edward Morris, Sr. and Foymae Evelyn Johnson Morris. Reverend Morris was “a peg in a sure place” for many in the body of Chirst. Miraculously granted an abundant gift to play keyboard instruments as a young man, Reverend Morris was much in demand to lead worship services for ministries throughout the country. This gift found him leading praise and worship for such Christian luminaries as, Reverend A. A. Allen, Reverend W. V. Grant, Sr., Reverend W. V. Grant, Jr. and Reverend Jimmy Swaggart. He was co-founder and co-pastor of The Church of Atlanta Lighthouse in Atlanta, GA, a well traveled evangelist, seasoned missionary, loving husband, father and grandfather. Retirement brought Reverend Morris to the Piedmont Triad area, where he and his wife functioned as a blessed team for several local churches. His testimony that “Our God Reigns” will be long remembered by all that were fortunate enough to have been blessed by this living gift from God. He was a member of Lamb Church of God in Randleman.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Monday Morris of the home, a sons Christopher Shane Morris of Atlanta, GA and 2 grandchildren Emma and Ella Morris of Atlanta, GA. A brother Gerald Lee Morris of Zebulon, NC and a sister Barbara Morris Blackmon of Wilmington, NC
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME Lexington Chapel and other times at the home on Martin Street
