Richard Taft Andrews

Richard Taft (Wormey) Andrews, 76, of Albert Drive, Lexington died suddenly Saturday, July 28, 2012 in WFBH-Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday July 30, 2012 at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with Military Graveside rites by the Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Andrews was born May 26, 1936 in Alamance County to William Andrews and Bertha Mason Andrews. He was a retired truck driver for Lowe’s Distribution and was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Catherine Medlin Andrews, a brother and several sisters. Surviving are a son, Ricky Andrews of Salisbury, a step son, Mike Barrier and wife Eleanor of Denton; two daughters, Amy Franks and husband, Jimmy, Julie Gooch and husband, Trevor both of Lexington, step daughter, Patricia Barrier of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Billy Barrier and wife, Allison, Patrick Tysinger and wife, Beth, Zach Barrier, Jill Luth and husband, Greg, Kristin Hicks, Emily Franks and fiancé, Jesse Adkins, and Josh Franks.
