Richard "Ricky" Felix Burkhart

Richard “Ricky” Felix Burkhart, 71, of Lexington, passed away September 27, 2022, at his home in Lexington.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date by his family.

Ricky was born on May 22, 1951 in Davidson County to Robert "Bob" Odell Burkhart and Nellie Gray Styers Burkhart.  He was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ and was self-employed having worked in the construction business.  He loved the outdoors and watching animals.  His passion was his family and especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.  Ricky was a loving father, brother and grandfather who will be missed by all.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Keith Leonard.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Chad Burkhart and wife Candy; daughters, Tamara Hamblin and Violet Burkhart, all of Lexington; brothers, Barry Leonard and wife, Claire, and Craig Leonard and wife, Ellen, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Brandon Hamblin, Sydney Hamblin, Jason Hamblin, Josh Burkhart and wife, Samantha, and Mackenzie Burkhart; also his great-granddaughter, Oakley Rae Burkhart.

The family will receive friends at their respected homes.
