Richard was born March 4, 1940 to Frederick Francis Church, Sr and Sally Lenore Church in Forsyth County. Richard graduated from RJ Reynolds High School and was a faithful member of Vernon Forest Baptist Church as long as his health allowed. He worked for most of his life at Fritts Motor Company in Winston-Salem, driving a wrecker truck and delivering auto parts. He was a faithful employee who was always friendly and kindhearted to all he met. He was dearly loved by the Fritts family and all those in the community in which he served. Richard loved old cars and was knowledgeable about them especially Mustangs and other models from the late 50’s, early 60s. He enjoyed spending time on the coast of North Carolina fishing with friends, until he was no longer able to travel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Fred F. Church, Jr, and a sister, Elinor Church Jones.
Left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Carolyn McKinnon, of Lawrenceville, GA and Glenda Church Smith, of Plano, TX, nieces Patti Miller, Natalie Foster, Brooks Smith, and Stacy Church, nephews Fred Church III, and Lauchlin McKinnon.
