Richard W. Cushman

Richard Cushman, age 78 of Marion Drive Ext. Lexington passed away Saturday night, September 30, 2017 at High Point Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Becks Lutheran Church with Rev. David Huddle and Rev. Dr. Ronald A. Rinn officiating. Burial will follow in Becks Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Church Parlor from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service. Richard was born March 20, 1939 in Burlington, Vermont to Waldo Emerson Cushman and Eva Margaret Cushman. He was formerly employed with The New York Institute for Education of the Blind in Bronx, NY and was retired from Coble Dairy. He was a member of Becks Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, James H. Ball and brother-in-law, Tony Conrad. Surviving are his wife Mittie Jo Ball Cushman of the home; daughters, Eva Lea Cushman and Selina Everhart (Jamie) of Lexington; granddaughter, Alyssa Katen Everhart; mother-in-law, Betty June Ball of Lexington; sister-in-laws, Teresa Conner (Robert), Donna Hanes (Bobby) and Kathy Conrad all of Lexington; brother-in-laws, James M. Ball and D. Keith ball (Virgie) all of Lexington.
