Richard Julius Darr, 60, of Holly Grove Road, died Tuesday, May 31, at his home. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Second Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jim Luck officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Darr was born January 3, 1956, in Davidson County, to Julius Clyde Darr and Laura Jane Fritts Darr. He was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ and had worked at Thomasville Furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Clyde Darr. Surviving are sister, Betty Jane Brown and husband Leonard of Virginia; sister-in-law, Patricia Darr of Lexington; nieces, Laura Brown McLean of Virginia and Melissa Darr of Lexington; nephews, William Cochran, Lucas Cochran and Michael McLean; and special friends, Dale and Lisa Embler of Lexington. The family would like to express their appreciation to everyone for their support and concern for Richard.
