Richard “Dick” Stout Hankeison, 83, a resident of Greensboro, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022. Dick was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 30, 1938 to the late Victor Gerald and Mae Stout Hankeison. He retired from RCA – GE of Greensboro after 30 years of service. Dick, a graduate of Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, MO, was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, was a Mason with York Lodge #563 for over 60 years, and was a Boy Scout Leader. He was of the Methodist faith. Dick was a very active person who enjoyed fishing, boating, and water sports. He loved to visit his cottage on High Rock Lake and travel to Florida for the Winter. He also loved to build model trains and playing the guitar.
A crypt side service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum in Greensboro. There will not be a formal visitation. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family.
Richard leaves behind his loving wife Carol Huff Hankeison, of the home; two sons, Gregory (Wendy) and Scott Hankeison, both of Greensboro; a sister, Marilyn Hamwey of Columbus, OH; a sister-in-law, Patty Showalter of Greensboro; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
