Richard "Dickie" Franklin Swing

Richard “Dickie” Franklin Swing, age 76 of Greensboro Street Ext. Lexington passed away early Sunday morning October 18, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Dickie will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 2:00 until 5:00 PM Monday and the family will not be present, however the family will greet friends after the graveside service at the cemetery. Due the COVID pandemic, face masks are suggested along with social distancing.

Dickie was born in Davidson County on December 15, 1943 to J.R. Swing, Jr and Olivia Perrell Swing. Dickie worked for the City Of Lexington Gas Department where he retired after 34 years of service.He was a member of Pilgrim Reformed Church and a retired volunteer with Triangle Fire Department with 33 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Mary Alice Everhart Swing; daughters, Annette Conrad (Wynn) and Jennifer Davis (Joe) of Lexington and Jody Vidal (Daniel) of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Ethan Conrad (Heather), Claire Conrad, Mary Davis, Sarah Grace Davis and Danny Vidal; great-granddaughter, Caroline Conrad; nephews, Eric and Brian Everhart; sisters, Camille Goss and Amanda “Cookie” Harp both of Lexington, Dinah Zuver of Texas and Margaret Williams (Bruce) of Greensboro; brother, Jimmy Swing of Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Pilgrim Reformed Church, 797 Pilgrim Church Road, Lexington, 27295 or Triangle Fire Department, 2976 Greensboro Street Ext., Lexington, NC  27295.
