Richard Dorsett

Richard Earl Dorsett 83 of Lexington went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.

Mr. Dorsett was born July 7, 1937 in Davidson County to A.W. Dorsett and Mary Elzada Dorsett. He retired from Hedrick Body Shop and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Welcome. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tania Waddell; a brother, Bobby Dorsett; and two sisters, Peggy Swing and Mary Jo Koonts.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Judy Gail Shoaf Dorsett of the home; his daughters, Robin Frye (Terry) and Kimberly Ree Morrow all of Lexington; his son, Chris Dorsett; grandson-in-law, Chad Waddell all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Amy Meadows, Jeremy Frye (Elisha), Chason Frye (Jessica), Nicholas Frye and Chris Frye; and eleven great grandchildren.
